The methods were based on the non-formal, participatory-based and needs orientated. Facilitators will use exercieses amongst others from EU Training Manuals such Compass, Mosaic, T-Kit and Domino Pack developed by Council of Europe and/or the European Commission. In addition to that, the trainers used their own tool kits or toolkits from other own kits. Those methods fostered a high participation rate involving the participants actively in determining their learning progress by creating learning moments that feature a high emotional and cognitive involvement.

The facilitators  specifically made use of individual reflections, group exercises, workshops, participant-led presentations and input sessions, plenary debates, and team-building exercises as well as more complex simulations and role plays and theatre-art techniques to foster creativity, out-of-the-box thinking and emotional involvement of the participants in the learning process.
